We had such a fun Christmas - J was totally into all this year, loved the paper & presents, though it got to be a bit much after a while & he'd just break down. Eli loved everything - the toys, the books, the paper, the bows, just everything. I think we did keep him from unwrapping everyone else's presents, but only because he had so much of his & J's to open! And he's discovered the joys of bubble wrap. Oh, the popping! Hours of Fun!
The worst part of the holidays was that both boys came down with colds & rsv, and Elias had another ear infection. Then when they were almost over the yuck, they decide to pass it on to Zach & I. I think we've finally gotten over all of it, but we felt pretty gross for a time.
In Jan. we actually got a little bit of snow. Zach borrowed a sled from a guy at work, and my dad found my old sled in the basement. J wasn't sure about the white stuff, & was even less sure about the sled, but Elias thought it was the best thing ever. Plenty of pictures on my flickr page of us playing, sledding & attempting to make snow angels. It was enough fun that Poppy found plans online & is now trying to perfect the snow making machine. Sadly, we've had warm weather since then, but I'm holding out hope that we make get to make some snow before spring is here.
We've also finally gotten the Christmas tree down & out of the house. It was really dry at Christmas, so a few days later & stopped watering it & took all the ornaments off. Then it sat in the house, lit up with tinsel on it, for oh, about 3 weeks. When MLK, Jr. Day comes around, the tree really needs to be gone! Thankfully Eric & Faith came over Tuesday, & Eric helped get the massive tree out while Aunt Faith helped give the monkeys a bath. I figure if I feed them, I should get some work out of them!
And now for the new year, plans are underway for vacation/play times & the beginnings of birthday parties...Elias keeps changing his mind as to what kind of party he wants this year. It's so much fun, it's hard to choose! He'll be 3, so we're hitting up the potty train big time, in hopes we'll get it down before his birthday. That way he'll be ready for 3K in the fall. That gives us 6 months...we can do this, right?
