Valentines

We had the best weekend - Friday we went out with Gran-Gran & Paw-Paw, then the boys got to spend the night over there. Score a full night's sleep for us! We were still up around 6 a.m., but for us, that's sleeping in. Zach & I then went to B'ham for breakfast (Original Pancake House - yum!) a trip to Target (maternity clothes!) and Sams (diapers. boo.) We managed to get back to pick the boys up right before lunch so we could rush to the mall & see some friends who were doing a rock-a-thon for Key Club. They were just finishing their shift, so we went and had lunch at Chick-fil-a.

Afternoon naps followed, and then Poppy came over to watch the boys so Zach & I could have an 'official' Valentines date. Poppy came bearing puzzles & new coloring stuff, so the boys were super-excited. Zach & I were going to try to go to Kobe, but the line was out the door & I'm impatient, so we ended up driving to Jacksonville to go to the Rocket. It was pretty cool driving through the university - I think it's been years since I've been there, & 10 years since I've graduated. yeah, I'm that old! It was fun just being with Zach/no kids, though on Friday night before they even pulled out of the driveway, I already started to miss them!

Sunday was church, and we went ahead and gave the boys their Valentines from us. Elias had been asking for another 'heart puppy', and Jacob was loving the stickers (stickers? for me? yay!) Monday, Elias had a party at school, and it was cute to see him playing with his friends. He loves school & talks about everyone there all the time. He'll even pretend to play school at home, and ask questions to his school friends.

The weather was great, and this week is supposed to be nice weather, so I'm grilling out every night. Last night we had bbq chicken, tonight is fish, and at some point this week we'll have steak, pizza, pork, shrimp, and burgers. I have had an offer to grill some cats (some of my friends are desperately trying to get rid of theirs!) but I think I'm going to pass on that one. Sorry, K&L! Hopefully, the last of the cold weather is behind us; I'm looking forward to spring!

Snow Day

Yesterday we had more snow in Alabama. I am ready for warmer weather, especially since I'm getting a baby belly & most of my maternity clothes are for spring/summer weather. I did manage to bundle the boys up yesterday morning so they were able to play in the snow a bit, and finally for the first time, Jacob actually managed to enjoy the snow. I'm not sure if it was because we didn't have a whole lot & you could still see the ground, or because we didn't get the sled out (not enough to slide), but either way, I'm glad I was able to get some happy snow pictures of him!

At this point, I'm counting down the days until we find out what we're having (c'mon, March 3rd!). I really would like a girl, just so I have a real reason to buy new baby things. We still have all the clothes & things from the boys, so if this one is a boy, I doubt he will get any new clothes! I'm sure I won't be able to resist some of the cute baby things in the stores, though, so he might get a few things. At first, Elias was certain it was a girl, but now when you ask, he'll tell you he doesn't know. Should be interesting to see what we're really having!
